WHAT EDUCATORS ARE SAYING . . .

For the past four years, the BBTE school-age program has been our school-based partner in education, working together to strengthen the educational outcomes for Tobin K-8 School students year-round, as an out-of-school time program. Due to the collaborative relationship between the Tobin K-8 School and BBTE, parents are able to enroll their children in programming that allows them to access tutoring, and homework assistance for their children, especially students who continue to make progress toward the standards, content and skills measured by MCAS in English Language Arts and Mathematics and Science.

The experiences our students encounter as participants of the Boston’s Bridge to Excellence School Age Program, also assists in developing the minds of the next generation of entrepreneurs. Providing our students with exciting out-of-school time learning opportunities, with exposure to 21st century skills connected to college and career readiness, participate in positive youth development activities that help to build their self-esteem is what excites us about being partners in education with our school-based OST provider Boston’s Bridge to Excellence.

WHAT PARENTS ARE SAYING . . .

My daughter loves it here. Once, when I came to get her she refused to leave, she cried all the way home - including a grocery store stop - because she didn’t want to leave her friends yet! I have seen a great improvement in her social skills. She’s really opened up with the help of Boston’s Bridge to Excellence.

I’m a single parent who needs to work to support my family.  BBTE provides a cushion so I can get to work in the morning and get back at night on the T and know that my son is safe and cared for.

BBTE provided a recommendation and the resources to get extra counseling support for my son.  A counselor visits the program to provide him with social support.

WHAT DONORS ARE SAYING . . .

BBTE has reached out to partner with our organization to ensure that their children have a smile on their faces during the holiday season.  We work with them to make sure that every single child in the program (and their siblings) receives specific Christmas presents every year. They are able to help families who would not have been able to provide gifts to their children. I am very impressed with the organization!  It is so evident that Dejon and Sophia has a very strong vision for the future of these children.  I admire the work BBTE does!
